Well, here we are. First official blog post.

After years of designing behind the scenes for big names, little brands, and everything in between, I’m commiting this little corner of the internet to share the stuff I’m working on, thinking about, or obsessing over. (Looking at you, color palettes inspired by vintage cereal boxes.)

Why start a blog now?
Honestly, I just wanted a space that feels like mine. A place to play, reflect, experiment, and connect. I’ve got a lot of ideas bouncing around and I’m ready to explore what my style looks like outside of client work. Lately, I’ve been excited about creating surface patterns, teaming up on design collaborations, and building creative tools for small businesses. Figured it wouldn’t hurt to start documenting some of it.

What You’ll Find Here

This blog will be a mix of:

  • Behind-the-scenes of my design process and design space

  • Thoughts on being a creative small business owner

  • Tips for fellow designers, illustrators, and and business owners

  • Highlights from client projects and collaborations

  • What’s been fueling my inspiration lately

Whether you’re a fellow designer, an art director scouting for fresh work, someone who loves clever visuals, or my mom (hi Mom), I hope you find something here that sparks an idea or makes you smile.

SEO Bits (But Make It Natural)

If you’re here because you googled surface pattern designer blog, creative process of a freelance designer, or how to start a design studio blog—hi! You’re in the right place. I’ll be talking a lot about freelance life, illustration work, design strategy, and building a creative business that actually feels fun (not like a soul-sucking side quest).

Ready, Set...

So yeah. Gotta start somewhere. Here’s to sharing more, trying new things, and seeing where it all leads. I’m hoping this lights a spark in me, and maybe in you too. I’d love to have you along for the ride.

Feel free to subscribe, comment, or just quietly lurk (no pressure).

Let’s do this.
